The view east from within the Art Gallery over Woolloomooloo, an inner Sydney suburb seemed to me like art! The window frames set the panorama into panels - can I call it a nonaptych? I haven't been back for a night display, but it would be worth it. The light is so much part of the photography and painting of Australia's landscapes. Here the light of this cirro-stratus day is bright but gentle. The golden glow of a sun setting and the red filter of bushfire haze in early summer illuminate this urbanscape with stunning colour: the drama of light in the city.

The city is my prison.

Well, don't feel bad, Ian. My city is my prison, too. Except when I went to Sydney in November! I'm enjoying your photos. :D

You are most welcome, Diane. You might even find a lock or a key among them, but not one painted in red fingernail polish!
