Did you climb Mt Ngauruhoe while you were here?

Dear Stefan, I have enjoyed your travels, and I would love to travel in your footsteps. This is the one place I have been. What a marvellous collection of images and what great experiences you have had.

Regards from Australia, Ian

Hi Ian, thanks a lot for visiting my picture gallery and for your kind comments. Yes, I climbed Mt Ngauruhoe (and Mt Tongariro). Unfortunately clouds masked the sight when I crested, so I didn' t take a picture. Greetings from Germany, Stefan

My hiking here was done in pre-digital dark ages, so it is great to see your images, Stefan. When I was a geography teacher I used this landscape a lot in my geomorphology classes, and through maps and images fell in love with it, in a bold as well as a detailed sense. So when I got to hike there, I was so thrilled and overwhelmed .... not to mention the exhaustion!
