Coffee House End!!

Why the odd sounding title you might ask. Well, it was the name given to the light blue coloured house near the telephone kiosk.

Many years ago, the "end house" on this waterfront terrace was a coffee shop, selling coffee beans. Eventually, the shop was converted to a public house called the "Marine Hotel" and sold alcoholic beverages on the premises. Today, it is a bar and cafeteria.

There is no known reference to the other "end of the terrace" but I suspect it has some connection with a former brewery which was located there.

The town is well served by a plethora of pubs, takeaways, eateries of every description. Needless to say, the air is filled with aromas from a myriad of kitchens and frier's.
