Wilhelm Tell is a kind of Swiss national hero, but his historical authenticity is disputed, mostly regarded as a legend. In Altdorf, the capital of Uri there is a famous statue of Tell and his son. However, according to legend, his home village is the neighbor Bürglen, where I found this statue, beside the Gasthaus zum Adler (on top of the façade of this hotel is the date 1574). Sep.1991.
