This is the Rijksinrichting voor jongeren De Doggershoek, in Den Helder, Noord-Holland, that is, a juvenile justice centre that operates under the Department of Justice of the Netherlands. Young people (ages 12 to 18) can be placed here both under criminal or civil law, from a few months up to two years. To achieve acceptable behaviour and prepare the boys and girls for a suitable place in the community, this centre gives them treatment, education and social skills.
