This used to be an old Veltex gas station years ago. It was owned by an old Basque man.
nice color in this one, I was wondering if you caught any neon on your trip.
And the neon craze goes on. Nice one.
Since not1word is our neon-specialist, there is no roadshow without any neon. He even repairs neon for free. Nice to hear some history about the place you visit.
Veltex sounds more like a fabric manufacturer to me ... but we'll go with your version :) I'm glad you are showing us the highlights of your trip! :-)
Thanks, Don. Yes, I did manage to find a few specimens. I was a bit annoyed that I didn't have some more time in SF, as there's plenty there to keep me busy for an hour or two.
Margot, see above. ; ) I can't defeat my mania, so I've learned to just play along. Thanks, too!
Howdy, Norrel. Yes, I do seem to find a bit of neon in my travels, eh? What would a Road Show be without neon? Thanks for stopping in!
I'm with you on that one, Nawitka, but that's what a friend who has lived here longer than I did told me. I do my best to shed some light on things. : )
VELTEX. Velcro you can trust.
... cue a video of some dude with bad shorts climbing a sheer cliff with the aid of velcro.
Nice! Even an ad campaign ready to run. That there whoelius is one smart cookie!
VELTEX was also a sort of YMCA in its time for struggling Texan velociraptors.
Ah, but of course. The down and out carnivores need love, too.
what do you suppose they ate? cameramen would be good targets, what with the squatting and slow movements. natural prey, one would think. but the taste!
Yeah, I'm pretty bitter, Larry.
