HONDA

Conocida como “La Ciudad de los Puentes”, pues posee un total de 29, fué fundada el 24 de agosto de 1560 como “San Bartolomé de las Palmas” por Don Francisco Nuñez Pedroso, (aunque otros histriadores atribuyen su fundación a Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada en 1539). Fué declarada “Villa de Honda” el 4 de marzo de 1643 por el rey Felipe IV de España a cambio de 5.000 pesos oro y 34.000 maravedíes (monedas con un peso aproximado de 3,8 gramos de oro). Altura:225 msnm. Temperatura: 27 C.

Well-known as “The City of the Bridges”, because it possesses a total of 29, It was founded in August 24, 1560 as “San Bartolomé of the Palms” by Don Francisco Núñez Pedroso, (although other historians attributes it’s foundation to Gonzalo Jiménez of Quesada in 1539). It was declared “Villa de Honda” in March 4, 1643 for the king Felipe IV of Spain in exchange for 5.000 gold pesos and 34.000 maravedíes (currencies with an approximate weight of 3,8 grams of gold). Elevation: 738 feet. Temperature: 80 F.
