Carrickarade Island, for the geographers and students of geomorphology who love Panaramio and Google Earth, is a doloritic plug. Tuff beds are evident in the mainland cliff opposite. Lava flows have built much of this attractive coast, and the nearby Giant's Causeway is part of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In fact the Causeway Coast is listed as World Heritage by UNESCO.

There certainly are many beautiful coasts in Ireland Rory, and this is one of them. Thanks for your appreciative comment, Rory.
