Hi Maric Ranko. Thanks i was so lucky to get the New Tornado A1 Peppercorn main line steam locomotive on this branch line and at such beautiful spot. I'm glad you like it.
This is a wonderful photo Tone.
Thank you very much for your kind comment Audrey.
Also a nice bridge... and a very nice train with a wonderful locomotive...
Thank you very much for your kind words Josef. This is the Tornado A1 Peppercorn class Loco, built in 2007
Yes I know. If I remember right, some parts of it are from Germany. Wonderful, to build such a great new steam-locomotive. By the way: in Germany last year were also built two new steam-locos, but both for narrow gauge.
Yes Josef the Boiler was built in Germany. I'm glad to hear the Germans are also building steam locomotives again. That is good news.
there are some considerations to rebuild a steam-locomotive from a class which was discharged more than 50 years ago and none is conserved. It is a class 18.1 (former Class Württembergische C known as "Schöne Württembergerin" = beautiful Lady of Württemberg??). Informations here.
But the problem is, like everywhere, the money - it is a very long-term project, absolutly doubtful, if it will come true...
Please excuse my imperfect english!
Halo Josef Pfefferle. Schöne Württembergerin is a beautiful loco. I like it. This loco Tornado had all originals destroyed. By the summer of 1966 all 49 Peppercorn A1 class locos had gone for scrap. None of the original production run of 49 Peppercorn A1's survived the scrapyard. However in 2008 a brand new 50th Peppercorn A1, 60163 Tornado, was completed costing £3.500,000 and now runs on the British mainline.
Ps your English is exelent.
I would be happy, if the Class C will also resurrect! Let's see...
Best wishes and congratulation for your Tornado A1 Peppercorn.
You never know Josef with the price of Diesel steam might just make a comeback and the class c with it.
