these buckets were used to transport the clay from the quarry to the brickworks where the bricks were made. Unfortunatley this no longer happens because the company closed it in April 2010 due to the slump, suposedly to be mothballed till it the building picks up again!!!

Hi, and thanks for the information. I always loved passing these as we drove from Lancaster to Leeds (every year since 2006). But sadly we will not be over this year (I live in Northern Ireland), and I'm disappointed to hear that the little carts are no longer running. I suppose it was to be expected. Kind regards
