President Ronald Reagan's statue, which is next door to his boyhood home. The house is 1/2 block from where Google says it is located. See the other photograph of the house.

Ppresident Reagan was born about 30 miles from Dixon but was raised in this house. Reagan was an announcer for the Chicago Cubs, on an Iowa radio station. Wheaties was the radio sponsor, for the Cubs. Reagan asked the sponsor if they would finance a trip to California, to broadcast several Spring training games. They did and Reagan used his trip to make screen tests at the movie studios.

He became a so-called "star." He then became a well known candidate for Governor of California, elected by people who love celebrities (Remember Arnold.)

One more step was the White House. He became the 40th President. I will give my opinion of his time in office by saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
