I remember those nice trees. We saw them in Oz too. Greetings Berend
Lovely ..lovely....lovely..Ian! I like very much!! My greetings, Simona
Hi Berend. Yes this is a Poinciana. In some areas in the Pacific the locals call them Christmas Trees because of their green foliage and bright red blooms at Christmas time... such as here. This photo was taken Christmas week. I have one of them in my back garden in Brisbane.
I can just see you picking up the fallen red blossoms and decorating your hair with such beauty.
Wonderful view dear Ian. Füsun
I love Vanuatu, Füsun. The colours and the warmth of the people make it special.
This photo was taken from the stairs leading down from PCV precinct. Thanks for the suggestion, but the marker marks the place - a GE & Panoramio expectation - from which the photo was taken (with a 100mm lens).
Hello Ian! That pretty picture, virtual, you have created .. in just a few words..!Thanks! Have a wonderful day!! Simona
They call this the "Christmas Tree" in Vanuatu, Simona, for it is adorned in bright red flowers back by soft green foliage, during December.
Hope you have had a wonderful time with friends during the holiday period.
Amazing that there was no traffic at the time. Good timing! Normally very busy!
