Hi, Erwin! What is that on the foreground?

Erwin Woenckhaus on June 7, 2007

Those are, or was cactus -ten years ago-, I don't know if still there. Greetings from Valdivia, Ivan!

Hi Erwin, you have great landscapes photographed! Chile must be a great country to visit!

Timo Rossi on June 30, 2007

Erwin: at least here, among the travelling people Chile is known as a beautiful (mountains, Ocean, etc.) country. Naturally Panoramio is a great system to get the countries even more known, that's one reason I like it so much.. :) Greetings, Timo

Your pictures are beautiful, Erwin! And Chile is a fascinating country. How long is the road from the border to Peru down to the furthest end of Patagonia? Greetings, May

Erwin Woenckhaus on August 27, 2007

Thank you very much, May.

I think it is not possible to go straight from Peru to Chilean Patagonia (by road), you have to pass through Argentina, or use a ferry... or take a plane in a place called Puerto Montt. Must be about 3,000 kms. I guess.

Greetings from Chile.

Thank you for the information, Erwin! So most probably, I would choose the ferry. :) Greetings from Switzerland, May

Erwin Woenckhaus on August 31, 2007

The ferry is the best choice in my oppinion. About 24 or 30 hour to get to "Chacabuco Port".

Erwin Woenckhaus on August 31, 2007

Hello again May:

The ferry is the best choice in my opinion. About 24 or 30 hours to get to "Chacabuco Port".

Let me know if you decide to come, I could find some useful information for you... and some friend of mine live in Coyhaique.

Greetings from Chile.

Erwin Woenckhaus on August 31, 2007

By the way... They are my friends! May.

It rimes...ha, ha.

hello erwin: those cactus are "copiapoa", there are over 40 types in atacama desert. you take this pic ten years ago, probably those copiapoas still there because they live over 100 years.

Erwin Woenckhaus on April 4, 2008

I think you are right, Cheordinario. I would like to go there again :) Thanks for your visit!

Greetings and best regards.
