The Huntridge Theater is well known to classic movie theater fans, but its future remains doubtful in the current economy. The owner wants to return preservation grants of $1.6 million in exchange for a release from his promise not to demolish the building before 2017.
Well after its run as a movie theater, the Huntridge was known in the 1990s as a venue for alternative rock, punk, and metal bands, back before those kind of acts are welcome on The Strip.
