ROBERTO TOMÉ - LONDR… on August 15, 2009

Gabor Retei on August 15, 2009

Yes "The Beachcomber's Boat" in Gibsons! Nice take Who. The box should remain a mystery!

Cheers, Gabe

Hehe. Thanks, Nawitka, Itallica, Roberto and Gabe.

I haven't a clue what's in the box, Itallica. I'm sure Nawitka knows.

I had to do something different with this one. 'twas a hazy day. Not conducive to vibrant photos.

whoelia on August 17, 2009

It's an electrical box. There is a small green one just outside the photo to the left. Both Greta Guzek and Jan Poynter paint the boxes in Gibsons. I know the one out of view was done by Greta... not sure who did the large one in this photo. Might have been Greta as well.

Gabor Retei on August 17, 2009

whoelia, you are right! We can see similar boxes all over the place.

whoelius on August 17, 2009

whoelia, if this is an electrical box, why is it not plugged in?

someGuyinmasset on August 17, 2009

Maybe she meant it's an eclectic box.

Norrel on August 18, 2009

But if it's electric, what does it do? Will it move if it's plugged in? Does it make a funny sound? Does it bounce up and down while making funny sounds?

What is it?

Nothing remarkable about the old boat Whoelius, but that is a beautiful box! Persephone? Queen of the Underworld? not a name I would pick for a boat, but If you can get a bunch of students, dress them in colourful skirts, give them some Pipes them send them over to Glasgow to pick up the World Championship, then if that name is good enough for Vancouver, its good enough for me, LOl cheers scally.

Ahh! Its a transformer, actually. First I thought it might be a dumpster. Buts its a good old fashioned transformer. You can see the lifting lugs. Leave it to the engineer to ruin a compelling picture.

Jean Gregory Evans on August 23, 2009

Well, I'll be! That is one of the most beautiful boxes. Looks like it's all gift wrapped! I'm glad to read and find the mystery solved. I just hate not knowing what's in a box!

:))

larry the engineer has now demystified the picture completely, who - (engineers, what can you do with that breed...?) - but the colours are electric in themselves - so we will remain pleasantly "shocked" by its intrinsic beauty, all the same!

Cheers, Hazel, Cape Town

IT'S A MAGIC BOX!!!

Magic.

I'm tellin' ya.

Thank you all for yet another funny string of responses. Panoramio is like a pub table sometimes!

seabow on December 28, 2009

Not sure if it's a magic box, but there's definitely something fishy about it!
