Beautiful! I love Denver. GO BRONCOS!!!
I experienced this storm front when I was up the valley above Rollinsville, and there it covered the country in small hail. As I arrived back in Denver the storm had passed to the east and hence this shot. Try TAG Rollinsville.
Angrybob, I too support the Broncos! But Broncos Rugby League from Brisbane and this weekend is the first of the Finals. Broncos plays Storm. Brisbane v Melbourne. You should locate the Australian Rugby League website and follow the game and this other Broncos!!
Another great occasion seized on!
Thankyou Alberto. That's just what I did. I couldn't get out of the car soon enough to seize on it. I had anticipated this and had hoped to get to the freeway overpass here in time to witness it. Ah, made it!
Beautiful atmospheric shot, Ian.
There is nothing more lovely than sunglow with a dark stormy background, is there!! Except maybe for a rainbow and a dark stormy background!!
You certainly captured this so well. I congratulate you on this photo's viewing total of 5050 - fantastic!! Y* for you, dear friend.
You are such an appreciative reviewer and encourager, Hazel. Thanks so much, and also thanks for the YS. I guess many GE users from Denver click on this and keep the counter ticking over. In a comment above I mentioned that I had anticipated this possibility as I followed the line of storms that I had experienced earlier in the afternoon back into Denver, and as much a visitor as I was, I was working out in my mind where I might find the ideal photo-point. And when a rainbow appears, one hastens to park the car safely and run up onto the freeway slip road to capture the moment!
Nice shot, like the rainbow! Greetings! Michael
As I was driving back to Denver, I was plotting where I would go for a vantage point because I realised that the storm had gone ahead of me, and yet the sun had not yet set. This freeway ramp worked well.
Regards from Brisbane,
Superb, and I liked your story about anticipating the shot, driving to where you could get a good vantage point to take the perfect photo. You succeeded. The light on the stadium turned a great photo of Denver after the storm into a truly Superb Photo of Denver After the Storm. I think you ought to search out "postcard" companies, Denver and sell this. It's not that you can make a lot of money, I just think it ought to be shared around town for all the tourists to see who are looking for postcards of Denver. No professional photographer could ever take a better shot. So do a little Googling and find out how your masterpiece can be shared even more! Tom
Thanks Tom for the appreciation of this photo. I certainly was pleased with the moment at the time. It ended a good day well.
And thanks for the suggestion about offering it to postcard companies. I appreciate the encouragement. The reason you give is the reason that I have uploaded it through Google Earth. I still may try. A search won't hurt me.
Thanks again, Tom.
Greetings Ancsa from Sydney. I appreciate your encouragement.

Golden City in a golden light! Thanks for your appreciation, Ruud. I will always remember my haste to get here in order to record this combination. I had been out among the mountains and the storm passed over us depositing light hail, so I was keen to follow it anticipating that the last of the sunlight would break through as the storm moved east and I was clear of the ranges. I made it to this particular viewpoint, and was so pleased.
