While men are young, men still have time to change their station. While men are old, men have to accept it as fate. Thinking happinese is not totally related to money. It is ultimate life meaning before men will be 6 inches undergound. It would feels good.

I think that is why the Chinese are great gamblers Jeff, desperate for Lady Fortune to lift them to the ranks of the rich. But I, have long come to the conclusion that one should be content with the basic comforts. I remember my first cycle and watch, and the great satisfaction I got from these petty objects, but as my Worldly goods accumulated my concern to maintain them increased, and problems well beyond any human control increasing caused me concern. The least objects you own, the less will be your worries. If you sudden became the richest man in the World your worries would increase exponentially. Every natural disaster, political strife, and scientific forecast of coming catastrophes, would be another burden for consideration to wile away your sleepless nights. LOL Have a nice day Jeff, cheers scally

Your attitude is exactly the same as a sentense in Buddhism

菩提本無樹,明鏡亦非臺,本來無一物,何處惹塵埃。

Bodhi tree's nature is not a tree, mirror table's nature is not a table, their nature is Nothing , how can they gather dust?

It is hard to achieve such spirit.

No matter I am poor, middle or rich, worries is always standing by people. I select middle one. LOL

Have a nice life.

Cheers, Jeff

Jeff I must admit to being a little unsure of the principles of Buddhism, does it believe in reincarnation? I find this belief defies logic, If everyone returns after death as new form of life, it means that the living population of the Earth should be static, yet we know that the human population is increasing rapidly, so the dead are not being removed from the list, just changing genus, so this reincarnation is doubling the rise in population growth, even if the majority return as insects, this wee Globe will be packed full in a few decades. You are lucky Jeff you might live to see the start of this explosion of numbers. See how little I understand this Jeff, I will be there too! I hope it is as a flu virus, there is a couple of politicians I would love to infect, LOL cheers scally.

Nothing is perfect. I accept, reject and suspend on various portion of buddhism. After my critical thinking, I accept the truth portion. I rejected the incorrect portion. It beyond my knowledges and wisom. I cannot conclude a definite answer whether such portion is true or false. I just put it aside. i.e. suspension

The law of conversation of energy : Energy is transformed from one state to another state. It never created or disappeared.

Albert Einstein's theory of relativity shows that energy can be converted to mass (rest mass) and mass converted to energy.

human contains mass. mass converted to certain form of energy. energy status was transformed to another status. Another form of status converted back to mass. That mass become a living creature. It seems apply to living creatures. I hold up to find the definite answer of this question. LOL

There are many planets in the universe. Some are going to die, while some are going to birth. You should not limited to the Earth.

Long before E = MC2, Lord Kelvin of Glasgow University proved that E can not be exhausted it will pass for ever till it reaches equilibrium, but what has that got to do with reincarnation??? Another engineering problem Jeff, You are on a ship in the middle of the ocean when a hole appear on the ship,s plates. It is exactly 3 centimetres square, you are the engineer on board and all you have is a hacksaw and a length of steel bar exactly 3 centimetres in diameter. how do you plug the leak? cheers scally.

jeff_msn123 on August 19, 2009

Scally

Living creature exist in form of energy (or mass). Energy transformation is similar to reincarnation. I know my concept beyond your wisdom. You are not necessary to fully understand it.

Steel bar can be cut in an angle so as to produce an oval cross section. It can be big enough to cover the square hole. Tell the technician to cut the bar and weld it to seal the hole. Not a tough question. I did not ask the help from crystal ball.

You need better conception to answer this question, there is no welder on boarded a Sea going ship Jeff! This ship has sunk! TRY again.LOL cheers scally.

jeff_msn123 on August 19, 2009

Scally

You need better description about your question.

Here is an alternative.

The top view of cylinder is a circle. The side view of cylinder is a square.

Cut out a 3cm long cylinder from the bar. You can use the cylinder to plug into the square hole.

In order to have tolerance fit, the cylinder must be a wee bit bigger than 3 cm square hole. At the same time, the two end of the 3cm long cylinder must have a taper of 3-5 degree.

Since the water pressure is higher than insider of the ship, it cylinder must be placed from outside.

Hope you have a hammer

If you have chewing gum, you can use it to seal up matching edges. It is short term solution before rescue.

LOL

Well that was not difficult Jeff, This is the perfect answer, All that was neede was a little lateral thinking. Go to the top of the class.LOL cheers scally.

The speed of the left and right wheels of a tram during turning is more diffcult to me, since the engineer has spent a lot of time to invent such smart design of composite wheels. Luckily, the internet helps me. Othewise, I must go to library to search some books or journals.

Two right out of four is a pass Jeff, I knew you would not answer the question on English which was not really Fair, but I thought you might have got the water into the steam loco,s Boiler one.:-(( cheers scally

jeff_msn123 on August 20, 2009

A pass really upset me. My result was ususally credit. (not excellent). :(

I would put oil into the steam loco. :)

Cheers, Jeff

Right! we will forget about the pressure test Jeff And you will get an Honours Pass if you get this one, What is the unusual property of the compound H2O, water, that ensured the continuation of Life, through the many, long periods of complete glaciation that the Earth suffered? lol cheers scally.

jeff_msn123 on August 20, 2009

Water is life essential. Sceintist is looking for any sign of water existing in other planet to determine its existence of life.

Cheers, Jeff

Harry Taggart on August 20, 2009

And exactly why is water soo important Jeff? that is the question you must answer, and it can be answered in one short sentence :D cheers scally.

jeff_msn123 on August 20, 2009

Thanks for your compliment. :)

Greetings, Jeff
