dear may, its nice to see your comments.you are correct that it is a minaret of o mosque but now a days the modern sound system replaced the 'muezzin'from the balcony!! they used to stay in downstairs to deliver 'Azan'(the call for 'Namaz',the prayer)and uses the microphone.many thanks for your interest....friendly yours
