Another beautifully lit scene of these cliffs near Seaford showing these Kittiwakes that have been nesting here.
Just a brilliant shot Herb i have come to realise i can not compete on an even playing field but you know i would have come away with this as well. steve
Thanks guys, for these comments. David, you know, when you take a picture, you know exactly what is here and so take it for granted that everyone can also see it but I must admit after your comment, it is not as obvious as I thought. You will no doubt realise by now (I hope) that the yellow big spot is a marvellous true snow white cliff edge that is lit up by a magnificent sunset from my back. Steve, you have seen the other White cliff shots on here so you know what I am talking about. After looking at this tonight and presenting it here, I think that this is the best of the three shots I have put on Panoramio of the same place. Cheers to you both, Herb
Awesome with dark sky.
One really has to see this one at big as possible. On the thumbnail it didn't look very interesting IMO. What a difference those birds make. Great pic.
very good - great light - love the contrast between the birds against a dark sky and bright cliff, how one lot look bright and the other dark - great stuff :)
Wonderful photo Herb
The dark sky in the background with the bright rock infront looks great!!!
Best regards, Andreas.
Beautiful photoHerb, wildlife is charming!!
What a great shot Herb, it deserve a Y*. I wanted to see the exif, and how you set your light.
Best regards, Olivier.
Lukasz,Bert,Graham, Andreas, Mariarosa and Olivier, I am overwhelmed by the lavish praise that you mount on this picture. It seems, like me, that you all enjoy this lighting and subject. Sometimes just being in the right place at the right time does wonders. Regards to you all, Herb
Would agree whole-heartedly with you that this is the best capture of the three images you've posted at this location Herb. It's really great with a lot of dynamic action(birds and waves). And, like Graham, I like the contrasting colouration(pretty sure that's a word) of the birds against sky and cliff. It's a cracker. :)
Best regards, Tom
Tom, you have only been a regular visitor to my gallery for a few weeks and yet I really think there is a real depth of shared thoughts and deeds when ot comes to our pictures. As you will now know, I really go for pictures that have special lighting and that useally means early evening or around a storm. When I did an impromptu visit to this place (which totalled only about one hour)I could not help myself but to capture every little scene I could see. I could have taken a hundred pictures in this same spot and they would have all been nice. Greetings to you in the USA,Herb
Yo !! there Herb,, ,,I see plenty of views and comments...so soon after posting... . That is only to be expected on such a fine photograph as this...brilliant..DJ.
WOW!!! Fantastic shot!!! Very nice composition and light. Greetings Artur
Absolutely terrific. The lighting is great and the birds coruscate the image perfectly. Yellow star.
DJ, yes, I work hard at trying to put special shots here and it looks like this may be a winner. Glad you like it too. (You almost make me blush with your nice comments!)
Artur and whoelius two more admirers of this picture. I am delighted that you see in this what I saw.
Regards to you all, Herbert
very nice picture herb geoff
Glad you approve Geoff. You know how it is, just being in the right place at the right time! Herb
Great picture Herb with all the birds flying around in front of the dark sky and the beautiful lighted cliff. But what I like best are the two birds sitting on top of the pales, giving a nice contrast to all these flying birds. YS for this one.
Well spotted Ingo. I originally was going to crop this into a true square as most of the action was in the left side, but realised I would be cutting the right hand sitting bird out. Could not do that, so you have nearly the full take here. Thanks for another YS on here, must be a record for me, after only days of putting it up. Regards, Herb
Beautiful, very beautiful...
