This picture should be hanging over the camping gate to warn people to be careful and not leave an open fire unattended, like in US there are often photos of cars damaged by a bear when tourist leav some food inside (despite of warnings not to do so). Very good photography, moving emotions; and scaring me, as I often do camping.

You're right... It was practically burnt out in the 7 minutes it took the fire department to arrive.

How sad. Great shot though

Bruce, it wasn't sad, unless you wanted the camper... ;-) It was an excercise for the local firemen. It was set up right next to the camp grounds in Ertebølle, and it drew quite a crowd. Not much to do around there.. It took them 7 minutes to get there to keep it realistic, since it would be their normal response time. It did serve as a warning, though. I'm sure anyone who saw it will think about being careful with fire while camping. :-)

Greetings Lui, Quite a picture and a great story. I enjoyed it. Lucky it was an exercise ;-))
