This is my earliest picture of the '39 Chevy that JRF bought new in 1938 or 39. This trip was with Rose Dini to Virginia City, Nevada to get married in 1941. The car was kept by Red Kiethly while JRF was in the Army and became our family car after the War. It was retired in 1951 and given to Pete Pelleni to make a stock car racer about 1962.
Interesting story - and wonderful picture! It really is a contemporary witness, Like it!
I've seen some really beautiful cars when I went to => Cuba.
Thanks Poly: The old cars in Cuba are a great attraction for Americans.
One of the first things I noticed abt this picture when I scanned it a few years ago was that my father parked the Chevy going the wrong way - which would have gotten him a ticket in California.
