Unspoiled and darned near unreachable for some of us older guys with bad knees, we posed with the Earth Flag as our symbol, at the western end of the lake. Then the youngest of the group jack-rabbited up to the top of Mt. Marcy, while we waited for his return, and our return to camp.

Mt. Marcy and Lake Tear of the Clouds are two places I'd like to get to Hank. Looks like it was a great camping trip. And nice meeting you too!

It really was Bob. From your pictures I can see you're a more proficient hiker than I am, but Lake Tear was a quest for me. My son and daughter agreed to join me, and we had an absolutely great time.

Most people climb Marcy from the North (Lake Placid) side. We came up from the Tahawus Trailhead for better access to the lake, and besides, I wanted to walk along the Hudson Rive in its infancy. Thanks for picking this shot for comment.

Cheers,

Hank
