Just an ordinary London residential street but one point of interest - the Greenwich Meridian runs through the middle of these houses.

On Newport Road (running along the bottom of the hill/road in the photo, I think) I was run over by a Volvo driver going very fast indeed (yet if he'd gone just a touch slower he would have killed me!). You can't zoom down Newport Road anymore - they put humps in during the 90's. Bit o' trivia for you there.

Not guilty - I've never driven a Volvo! The Council are currently installing a load more humps and they are all along Twickenham & Richmond Roads now too.

as a resident, can you help me telling about Hitchcock house? on my next visit I'd like to see it. thanks.

The sad truth is that there is no Hitchcock House in Leytonstone. The place he was born is a petrol station on the High Road - there is a plaque but no other reason to visit. There is an old hotel and pub on Whipps Cross Road called the Alfred Hitchcock but I'm not sure there is any connection with the man himself. There are some good murals depicting some of his films in the subways leading down to the tube station - these are quite recent (last 10 years or so) but are more a local curiosity than a reason to visit.

Cheers
