Thank you, 心澎湃.* I notice that we are approaching 100,000 views - a milestone I hadn't considered two years ago when I posted this photo. I like milestones, and I hope I can think of something meaningful to say in a couple of weeks when we pass that mark.
this picture has made u very popular, hank, and why it made u noticed is so understandable. i have only been to new york once in my life--when i was a small girl. i have always wanted to come back to visit family and sightsee. i live in the south where life is not as hectic, and i love the night scenery--the clear, starry skies. however, i still would love to come back there and see things that i didnt get to see before. i love to take pictures but havent done so in a while. maybe i will find the time to start back again and post here, although i am not a professional photographer. i look forward to more from u. be blessed.
Hi bigolebebe, thank you so much for your kind words and reflections. Very few of us on Panoramio are professionals; I certainly am not!
Through the process of posting my shots, and receiving positive input from others, I know my work has improved. This is a warm community and, if you have the interest, you should definitely start.
Thanks May. I had been wondering how I would commemorate this photo ever since it hit 100,000 views. I too feel strongly about the symbolism she represents, and it is so much more than the country that hosts her. I think the times right now are so well represented by the dispersing storm clouds, even though I know we still have some rough water to cross before we're all safe. Metaphors aside, thanks for sharing your thoughts,
Thank you for writing, John. I am sorry to say I haven't been to China, but I would like to add the word "yet." I hope to make it while I'm still able to enjoy it and learn about the people.

Actually, Apologize1989 it was late afternoon, around 4:00 pm I'd guess. I had just visited Ellis Island (a National Park, alongside Liberty Island where the Statue resides) which is dedicated to the immigrants to came to the USA. A storm was building and we were on the ferry heading back to New York City when the clouds opened up and the bright afternoon sunlight pushed its way through.
Brooklyn! Amo el Puente de Brooklyn!!! Imagino que tienes fotos hermosas de el! Me encantaría verlas.

Thanks John, mpjdesign and Like... I appreciate your stopping by and commenting. Like calling someone, I'm not sure I can answer your question. The Statue of Liberty is a major site, and it is easily found on Google Earth. I'm afraid something got lost in the translation. Sorry.
I too sometimes blink and illuminate so planet! The Light blinks, little you not to seem! Beside you that I think too, in New Yorke light that blinks electric, from light bulb !? I for you that such pleased! Much that in russian there understands?
