Hello! This Inn is closed since the middle 80´s! It´s now a normal house, where the owner is still living. I lived in this village unti Juli 2007, I live with my family now in Yorktown, VA, USA and I miss our little community very much!!

Oh, Gander, thank you SO MUCH for that information! My Mother will be tickled pink to know! I wish my Dad was still alive so he could know, too!

I want to let you know that when Daddy was billeted there, there was an old painting hanging in the building. I think he said he was on the top floor. Anyway, he took the painting, and it was old then, and it now hangs in my Mother's kitchen. We also have the original frame as well. My Dad was also a painter, and he always loved, and had wonderful memories of his time there. Thought you'd like to know. If you know the people who live there, forward this on to them please.

Welcome, and I know what it is like to miss your home.

Smiley, it is an amazing story! I live only 400 meters away from this building...

Do you have more information about the residence purposes during WWII?

Are you SERIOUS, Marc! Talk about an amazing story of a building!

I wish I did. The reason my Dad took my Mom and Me there was BECAUSE he had such wonderful memories of the time he spent while staying there.

As I said, I only know that he told me that it was an inn at the time, but that's about all that I can remember. He did say that he stayed in the room where the top window is along with many of his unit.

I don't have any more info than that.

My Father is deceased since 2003, and I know my Mom (she is now 87) would just love to know whatever you know about the history of the building - as far back as you can. She is in pretty bad shape, but I know she'd like to know about it before she dies. I sure would appreciate it.

If you know the people who own it now, please let them know the story. You could also print this page out, and give it to them as well.

Thanks, Marc! I'm amazed that such a small, simple building 1/2 a world away from us has exhibited so much interest!

Hi Kelley, I have no other information about the house, but I used to pass by for years on my daily way to school and later to work. It is amazing to read which memories people from other parts of the world have on places close to me. Best regards from "Good Old Germany" ;-)

Hi, dj. Isn't this a really small world? Something that happened almost 45 years ago is making such an impact! My Father is no longer with us, but I know he would have been thrilled to know how many people have responded. Who would have ever thought that this would have brought up so many memories as well as present day information? I am loving it! Thanks for writing me.
