Gorgeous, and those are interesting red blobs below the sepals. I've never noticed anything like that on a rose before. Oh, yes, and I love the anti-existential title! Why indeed?

Thank you, seabow, for your encouraging words!! I'm sorry,I can't tell you anything about the blobs you mentioned. I'm not a biologist, I just love flowers - and nature in general. When I see nature's beauty in every tiny little detail, I feel her unconditional acceptance of us human beings. Makes mee feel good... hence the title. Warm greetings to Canada.
