You've got to enter the park north of the bridge at about 181st Street, and walk down. The security car is a deliberate inclusion; Homeland Security won't let you include the bridge in a picture, so we were looking South.

Why did you comment your own photo?

Greetings 17zambre, I do that quite often if there is something about the picture or the place that I want to tell people. Many Panoramio photographers do the same thing.
This tiny lighthouse was featured in a children's book and many people have heard of it as a result. It is difficult to get to so I wanted to tell people how to do it. I hope you enjoyed the photo.

Hello Krokkas my friend. I'm glad you found this little lighthouse. It has an historical place in New York's folk history, and on a personal note, I used to live in that apartment house atop the Palisaides on the right (with the two roof structures) in Fort Lee, NJ. I also lived on the river bank, but my place is hidden by the Little Red Lighthouse.
Cheers,
Hank
