Sorry to trouble you again, Martin. Not only for the unusual gathering but also because I'm a fairly experienced bird-watcher, this photo caught my eye. I think these are black-headed gulls and a couple of jackdaws but I'm not certain. When you've got a moment, perhaps you could put my mind at rest. Regards, Brian.

Hello. I'm not a bird watcher, so I'm afrafid I can't help you there. This was a shot I took on my way home from Morecambe via the Lake District (at Bowness). Although I had driven past this area many times, we decided to take a wander. All the birds seemed incredibly tame, and even the swans walked amongst the passers by quite happily. I think I just noticed how most of the birds were sitting, facing the same way, as if waiting for something. I'm not really into animal photography, but on looking at my shots back home, this seemed interesting. I'm glad someone else is looking.
