He could be but he isn't. His grandparents came from Tarawa, being resettled in Solomon Islands in the hope of a future. Referred to as Gilbertese in Solomon Islands, they may remind you of the people from Rabi. The Rabi story was and is much sadder than that of the Gilbertese of the Solomon Islands.

You're right, he didn't have long to wait, for it was busy at the wharf that day as the inter-island ship, Tamoko, was berthed for an hour.
