A very powerful image. The British Singer who passed away in the 90's?
Matthew Walters, on September 5, said:
Thanks Hank. Yes, lead singer of Queen - he lived in Montreux for a while. I used the star aperture on this one, I thought it would give a good effect with the sunlight bouncing off the lake. I had to wait a while for the sun to be low enough, and even then had to use an ND filter to avoid over-exposure.

I went there for several time but never had the chance to get such an impressing shot. Lucky you.
That's what I need to buy next also: an ND filter. Is there anything one have to know about before buying?

Thanks László and polytropos.
polytropos - I have a selection of ND filters, .3, .6, and .9 to give different levels of light reduction. I also have graduated versions, so I can reduce the brightness of the sky without affecting ground level brightness - some of these are screw-in (for the lensbaby), others use the Cokin system. In this case, I needed a large reduction in brightness and had to hand-hold the big filter in front of my lensbaby. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for this infos, Matthew. Guess, somewhere in my archives I still have a Cokin filter holder for my old Minolta; maybe it's helpful.
