Now I have read it all, and the links as well, so I understand a lot more about the Swiss railways and the tunnels etc. By the way dear May, I admire the democratic system in Switzerland, we get to go to meetings to voice our opinions on new developments in the UK as well. Then the authorities ignore us and carry with what they wanted to do in the first place!!

As far as this photo is concerned Scally, I love the romantic feel of it. Those were the days when going on a journey was a pleasure. And the suitcases - wonderful! They must have been left there by the last by a couple - maybe in the 1940s! :)))

I have never been on the Severn Valley railway you know, even after living in Shropshire for 35 years. This one makes me want to take a trip, and maybe, just maybe, I'll see those big black elephants in the railway yard, and post a photo for you :))) You do mean old steam engines?

Cheers, Amelia

Well I news from the UN this morning should give you a lift Amelia, Norway is officially the most desirably Country in the World to live in. like yourself I was surprise at just how little I knew of Swiss history. May is a bit of a free spirit, nips on a Ryan Air flight, hires a car at the airport, then hunts out the back roads moving around not knowing where she will sleep that night, but holding to a tight budget. Like yourself she likes to take shots from the most precarious positions climbed a hill to shoot Eilean Donan. The Elephants were in a field well below the line running along a hedgerow, and as I said I was sober! lol cheers scally.

The report in CNN only mentioned The top and a few real sorry ones ie 250 dollars annual income. It will be on the UN site tony, cheers scally.

The map location is wrong for this signal box,it's on the Severn Valley Railway in the Wyre Forrest and not 'OLD' Arley in North Warwickshire.

I had it wrong sited but it was moved over a week ago with the assistance of the Severn Valley Railway Pamphlet. If you think I ,ve still got it wrong, then show me in the map? cheers scally.

This map is not wrong on this site but the description for Warwickshire is still under the map,i just noticed it when looking at 'Old Arley' in 'Google Earth' where it is still listed/marked in Warwickshire.I know of its existence on the SVR and visited it many a time. BTW it is a very good shot of the signal box :-)

Hello Scally, It just puzzled me one day coz i had been planing some 'Back lane' riding and noticed it on Google Earth, but when i was out i didnt find it,and then it suddenly clicked with the Colours on the signal Box were of the GWR type and remembered Arley from Camping around the Hampton Loade area.

Over the last few months Panoramio seem to be getting a better grip on mapping, The worse two I remember was the Swiss Vatican Guards on the Isle of Skye, and Vintage racing cars in the Firth of Clyde? LOLl cheers scally.
