Well, you all had to suspect that my mania was going to rear its ugly head again sometime soon. I'm not so sure that the good people of Logan were ready for me or not. I was lying down in the parking lane right beside the street, camera on tripod upside down. Trust me, there was no other way to get this one. Well, there was the shot from across the street that I took, too, but I sort of like this view a little better.

It was worth all the contortions!

A very simple 3D effect with the clean lines contrasting with the elegant flowing script. The street light adds to the effect rather than distracting. I am guessing that took getting the lighting just right. Probably not near as effective as from across the street.

Thank you, JF. That lamp was one of my problems, it kept getting in the way of some of the natural shots. I did wind up messing around with this one a bit in the computer, but only to try and balance the different light sources out more evenly. The across the street shot included some car headlight and tail light lines, so it has its merits, too. Some may even prefer it more, I suppose. Thanks for the visits and comments.

Parking lanes are meant for parking, not1word. You're taking great risks in your quest for the perfect picture. Panoramio is a hazardous addiction, but, like all addictions, we can't without it.

The result of your irresponsible behaviour is this nice picture, so let's forget about it. ;>)

I know, Norrel. My mother would not have approved of my playing in the street, either, I'm sure. Thanks for the kind forgiveness and good review, though!

This beats climbing that silly tree. Great shot.

Thanks, Margot. Less far to fall, too.

Lol. Leave it to Norrel to suggest climbing trees.

I'm just glad he didn't want me to ride a bike up any trees.

-Sh-h-h-h-h-h_ He probably hasn't thought of it yet.

Shoot. Maybe he won't notice this.

Hey, Norrel! What's that over there?!

Oh, well done! The lamp is perfectly positioned, it was worth a bit of rolling around in the gutter. Attention to detail, that's what I like to see!

You have me laughing with the rolling around in the gutter, Nawitka. Now I know my mother will be displeased with this one. Thank you for the visit and grand review.

Norrel, on September 8, 2009, said:

LOL! Around here, people rolling around in the gutter are collected by the Salvation Army.

...and people trying to ride up a tree are collected by other people, and being locked up until they behave themselves.

Well, in that case, Utah and the Netherlands aren't that much different, Norrel. I managed to get out of the gutter before the Salvation Army came by, and as for the bike, no one else saw that, so we'll say it didn't happen.
