Hi I represent Judges Postcards and we love this shot and a few others that feature on Panoramio. We are looking for new images for ppostcards and notecards and wondered whether we could arrange a commercial agreement for reproduction rights on some of your images? Thanks Andrew andrewp@judges.co.uk PS also liked A new Day begins and a walk on the moor etc and also the ones you ahve of the Dales!

Hi Andrew, we have been here before when you asked the same question about my Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough shot and some others ....
From: steve jackson Sent: 09 August 2012 13:24 To: Andrew Potts Subject: Re Panoramio enquiry
Hi Andrew, thank you for your enquiry re this image http://www.panoramio.com/photo/64995159 and for your companies interest in my images.
It has always been my intent to use my better photographs as postcards, calendars and hopefully in tourist promotion so interest from a highly regarded company like Judges is very welcome.
Of course I would need to know more before making any definite commitment and I guess what I need to know initially is to put it bluntly, what’s in it for me ? and how many if any restrictions would be placed on additional usage of the images in concern ? Having been approached by the likes of Countryfile magazine and Getty images I am aware that some companies need exclusive rights while others don’t allowing private sales and/or further usage to continue.
Thank you once again for showing an interest and I look forward to hearing from you further and I can be contacted by reply email or by telephone on regards, Steve Jackson
Hi Steve
We have a new agent covering the North East who would like to develop a range of postcards and other products for local distribution. The products that we would be looking at are postcards, keyrings, magnets and possibly a greeting card and bookmark.
We normally pay £25 for the rights to use an image…we are not too concerned over exclusive rights at this point.
We do not have any images for Middlesbrough, Redcar, Stockton and Darlington, so thought that Panoramio might be a good source of images.
We would wish to follow correct procedure regarding use of images.
My question is if the above fee for picture rights would be acceptable……you may not be able to retire on it, but if my Agent can get this project moving there will be opportunities for further image purchases.
Please let me know if this would be acceptable.
Kind regards
Andrew
PS love the one of Kilnsey Crag….I was there a few weeks ago and took a similar shot, with my girls sat having a picnic in the foreground (after catching a few fish!)
I replied to this expressing my concern that once used commercially any image would not be able to be used again exclusively and that as such £25 was a paltry offer and one which I declined. I received no response to my concern so I can only assume that there was no better offer. For obvious reasons all I can say is that if you are still offering that same fee then my answer is still the same also .
kind regards, Sam
