Thanks Rosina. The main hall was built in the 1600's, I'm not sure how old the Malt Kiln is but it certainly has been used for a long time. They've just been given some lottery money, and the building will be restored to house an education centre.

Hi Matthew, when l first look at your photo a little memory of an italian saying kept haunting me, It was said "that if if the weeds grew tall in front of your door it meant that all was not well in that house"

Matthew Walters, on June 10, 2007, said:

That's true, or maybe just the mower is broken!

Another great shot Matthew, I just love the delicate tones you've managed to capture in this shot and the exposure is spot on. Nice one :)

In this pictures comments others have said before me all those compliments I wished there write to this art too! Only I can add from myself - my yellow star goes to this art without any doubts! Old houses and details express own story if pictured with love, like in this sample! :) Regards ainars

Thanks highton-ridley and Ainars.

I like to look for the smaller details, and it was this door that first caught my attention and drew me to the building.

About the smaller details, me too - did you see my Terracotta Tile Eavesor the Orcs Out Of Mordor I just uploaded?

Bella puerta, Matthew.

Matthew Walters, on July 11, 2007, said:

Luis Maderuelo, on July 12, 2007, said:

As you said, Matthew, both door and house has an history, unknown history in many cases. That is disturbing and lovely at same time.

I invite you to see a detail of another old and abandoned door, if you want.

Mattew, this is a beautiful photo. Greetings!

A yellow star for this fantastic shot. On one side is the door to the past and on the other side the door to the future. It is a little disturbing...Anita

Thanks Anita! Amazing how small details can make you think about what the rest of the photo could hold.
