Hi unnippillai, very beautiful and interesting shots of Russia during communist times. Life these times look so calm and quiet on your shots. It is now 40 years ago, time flies like an arrow. Your shots keep it in the minds of all the folks looking at it. Great job of yours, many thanks for let us have a look into your past :))))))))

Hi unnippillai, thank you very much for sharing such wonderful and unique photos.

As regards Moscow Triumphal Gate (Triumpal Arch) - it has been built in 1829-1834 in memory of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1812. The Arch was originally built on Tverskaya Zastava Square, instead of wooden Arch that had been erected in 1814 for a Ceremonial welcome of Russian military returning from Europe. In 1936 the Arch was demolished and in 1966-1968 was reconstructed again but at the new spot on Kutuzovsky Prospekt (Kutuzov avenue)

Wow.. very interesting photo, specialy to comparison with my photos took in 2007... sure better in 1969, more quite and without traffic ))) in any case arc is not for victory in second war but victory on Napoleon, just the park near is about second war.
