Festetics-kastély (Dég) / The Dég Festetics castle

Dégen található Magyarország egyik legszebb - és egyetlen látogatható - klasszicista kastélya, amelyet hazánk legnagyobb angolparkja ölel körül. A kastélyhoz sok legenda fűződik: a magyarországi szabadkőművesség titkos központjaként emlegetik. A kastély 1810 és 1815 között, az ország „leggazdagabb köznemese", Festetics Antal (1764-1853) császári és királyi kamarás megbízásából épült.

One of the most beautiful castles in Hungary, located nearby the small village Dég. It was built during the classicism era, open to the wide public and it is surrounded by the largest English style garden in the country. The castle has various myths, once was rumored it was the headquarter of the Hungarian freemasonry. The construction took between 1810 and 1815, and it was ordered by one of the richest noble person Antal Festetics (1764-1853) who also acted as a lord of the bedchamber.
