A beautiful specimen... ideally suited for drawing attention to it by fading the setting around it to monochrome, I thought.

Alan, Ferdinand Porsche designed it - it was his first car design, totally revolutionary in 1938.

This picture is stunningly beautiful! On many levels. The perspective is really original and the color of the car comes to life because of the black and white background. You did some great editing! This deserves a place in my favorites!

No matter! I'll say again... GREAT PHOTO and now in my Favorites too!
My Grandfather always had one so it brings back great memories.
Thanks Feenixx.

Alan and Harm-, thanks a LOT!
When I was a college student, many of my mates and I used to buy "disposable" ones for a couple of hundred bucks (German Marks) at the most, and drive them for a few months, then use them as spares for the next one.
I would have liked a bit more space around it - however, I couldn't get any further away - I was just barely able to squeeze into the gap between it and the car parked in front of it. A super wide angle (non-fisheye) lens is on my wish list...

Thanks, stimpleton... yes, you are absolutely correct... and also, unlike the new "beetles", they had the engine in the back.
