You captured his red eyes and feet perfectly! You are very close! We have the exact same bird in this area, the Wet Coast of Canada. I got very close to one this summer, a first for me. Usually they are very shy. You can see here. Greetings!

Hello Nawitka, your is definitely better. I have only 100 mm (eq. 35 mm) zoom... Not enough for "birding". :(

I think this is crop from RAW.

But fortunately, NZ birds are less shy then the others. :)
