Thanks Alan,
I tried quite a few different exposures to get this. One I liked best was this one at 1.6 secs. Any longer exposures blurred the masts as the boats bobbed about, and the shorter ones made the water look like jelly!

Hi Haggs,
Thanks for the vote and the visit! As I said to Alan, there were a lot of rejects from this attempt, (both exposure times and lighting) so I'm pleased that at least two of you are appreciative of the end result!
Best Wishes Peter

Hello Mine,
Thank you for the visit and the praise!
I could't move the boats around, but I did try a few different things with lighting. Experimenting is how we learn I suppose!
Best Wishes Peter

This is a real beauty Peter, a perfect night photo, with little or no "noise"! I find it difficult to achieve photos like this, so it has a golden star :))
Greetings, Amelia

Hi Amelia,
Thank you very much for this high praise! I have just been back to look at the rejects, and sure, they are very noisy, and some are well over exposed in places, so probably more by luck than judgement in this case. I certainly noticed a similarity between Wardie and Mussleburgh though.
Best Wishes Peter
