Descent into darkness

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The day was never complete unless we found our way back to the car/cottage/pub in darkness. In those days we had to wring the last drop of available daylight out of every day as if it were the last few pennies spent from a pocket.

Thank you BennyGun for your visit and your kind words. I am very impressed by the striking images in your gallery and note they are all scans (like this image of mine).

I am looking forward to seeing how your collection develops (no pun intended!)

All the best from North Carolina.

this is fabulous shot Jethro! i dont think i would enjoy the outings if i was one of the little ones (purely because of cold) but i have noticed in recent years i make myself suffer for my art.... :)

David Brown Photogra… on May 2, 2011

We all suffer for our art Unda. My family in particular - they have to look at my damn pictures from time to time.

Our kids loved it and cannot get enough of this now they are grown-up-and-gone.

Thanks for your lovely comment - Jethro

Isn't it spectacular. I keep forgetting about it Ben and then someone finds it and brings it to the surface and I look at it again in awe!

Oh to be young on out there in Arctic conditions and laughing with my kids.

Many thanks - Jethro

I'm just uploading my photos for the Cairngorms and I wondered who that was in that photo coming down Cairn Toul. Lo and behold it's Jethro.

Jethro - with his two kids Quentin

That was a long time ago.....

It was a great day and I reckon a great shot.

Thank you for finding it and having the kindness to mention your discovery - Jethro
