Hi, Ainars! I invite You to visit the last photos on my gallery which I sent yesterday night, about Alberta Iela, those precious buildings that You certainly know very well, because probabily You live in Riga.I think that.I will do some coments about the architetury of them, with more time, and put the street on the map. And, if You may help me: I would like to put the names of the autors my favourites photos, but I clik on the yellow star but nothink happened... I did several times and can't do that. Your coment about my name it is very correctly, it is tipical Latvian, and the name of my son is Janis. Greetings for You and your Family.

Dear Anna,

Best wishes to you, your son and congratulations about your son's name ;-)

I will answer here: 1. About your gallery, it contains beautiful photos! Style used in architecture is called Jugenstil or Art Nouveau and it was popular in 1890-1910 in Europe.

  1. About each building history etc. you can find in wikimapia by clicking on corresponding address "box", or use for example Konstants or Ainars Millers comments made near their photos

Even I have house and live also in Riga ~4 km from this street, I like more "simple countryside style architecture" ;-)

  1. To get "favorite author list",- you are to sign in and put "yellow star" in front off each "author's name" you like. (You are to click on link of selected authors name->you will get selected author's all photo list->in upper part of page you will see authors name in tittle- "photos by XXX" with "empty star" in front of title. By toggling (use mouse) of star color, you can select / unselect favorites.
