This is a detail of an overlook in the Tijuca forest which a memorial to the Chinese who worked on tea plantations in this area of Rio.

Wow this is interesting! I didn't get here. Yay comments and tags are back in place. You still cannot add pictures.

We took a jeep tour up into the forest, and it was very interesting. (I hope to map this soon; I've seen something in a guidebook that will help.)

How good it is to have some of Panoramio's functions back to normal!

Perfect and dramatic shot, Marilyn!!

Really interesting and I love dragons of all kinds. Chinese dragons are wise and helpful. This is a really lovely shot Marilyn, looking forward to seeing more!

Nawitka on September 24, 2009

I think you should map it anyway, just so it gets into the review queue. You can move it later when you know more.

Thank you, Ria, jenper, and Nawitka.

In a Brazil guidebook that I hadn't looked at for a long time, I found a map that showed its location. Once I knew where to zoom in on Google's Rio map, the "Vista Chinesa" was clearly visible! (Now to try to figure out the location of the waterfall ...)

Great shot Marilyn, but I suggest to take it a photo at night with a light under it :-)))))

It will be like a scene from a thriller movie :-))))

Best regards, Andreas.
