Unfortunately what had become synonymous with New York, and it's Skyline has now become a reminder only of 9/11; of Terrorism, War, and what can happen as a result of hatred.
However, I am glad that you still included this picture because we continue to conquer and build regardless of the evil works of those who hate us, and would destroy us if they ever had the opportunity to do so.
In one sense it is a reminder of sadness and something very bad, but in another sense it is evidence of the overcoming spirit of so many who came to the rescue like Firemen who risked their lives to save and protect those who were trapped in two building's about to fall down.
Thank you for including this picture even though it does bring back it's share of dark memories. It also sparks the endurance and overcoming sides of man which without we would never have survived all of these centuries. Happy New Year, 2008!
