Hi Roger

I have a tag with English Inns for ones that we have passed on our walks, but yours pubs are more interesting as I seem to have had a pint in them!

In this one it could have been 40 years ago!

All the Best Peter

By the way Roger in them days the pubs shut at 10.30 and one of us would drive over the border towards Brownhills to have a few extra until 11.00.

Times Change! Peter

hi Peter hope you are well?when i worked for british gas we had to give them two phone numbers for when we where on call one whould be your home and the other would be The Albion. When the phone used to ring we would all shut up and Mary(the gaffer)would answer the phone.if you had to go out on a call when you got back your pint would still be there. They would never allow it now.Best Wishes.ROGER

Hi Roger

My old man worked for West Midlands Gas Dept for 44 years, and for most of the time he used to travel around on his bike mending the gas meters. He used to go as far as Darlaston and Wednesbury and take his lunch to have in a pub.

Now you can’t do that either these days!

All the best Peter
