this reminds me of the capilano foot bridge near vancouver. have you walked it? i'm pretty sure i left permanent grip indentations on the handrail.

nice pic.

pbft Glad to say I've not or will ever walk the Capilano Suspension bridge. Too swaying and high for me. I too would leave permanent grip marks. The tram at Hells Gate is up the Fraser Canyon about 1 1/2 hours drive from Vancouver. The Fraser river has history from 1808 to 1920 involving the voyage of Simon Fraser to the historic Fraser river Gold Rush, the building of 2 railways to the linking of the coast lines of Canada via the Trans Canada Highway. This air tram also joins 2 mountain ranges over the Fraser river where there is also fish ladders for the salmon to the worlds largest salmon run each year. The tram is short but very picturesque. Thanks for your visit. BETTY

the tram sounds wonderful, but i wouldn't enjoy that ride either. heights really give me the woolies. i was a parachutist many years ago, and people who know of my problem with heights cannot imagine that i could have parachuted. it's different. at 1250 feet my fear of height is ordinary. coming down, though, at maybe 50 feet that feeling would return and i had to make myself do right so that i wouldn't get hurt.

really like the pic.

pbft The tram ride is 3 mins. and you can look at the lovely mountains, or down the river instead of straight down below. I am not a fan of heights either, but if there's lots of other things to look at that helps. When you get to the stop there are places you can look from behind fences that can be more settling. It really is a nice stop. Gift shops, information places and a restaurant to make the tram trip worth while. Great photo opportunities. Have a good day. BETTY

cecemil Welcome to my site and thanks for the visit. Glad you enjoyed my photo. It is one of many places that tourists visit. The Tram ride gives you a view that is fantastic, but this is the fun part of the attraction. It is a 3 minute ride and you can look at the lovely mountains around you, or down at the river below. Lovely photo and the view must be great, regarding the map with the river! Greetings, May

Swissmay The view is super with the river and mountains. There is also train tracks on the side of one mountain. One train has dome cars so passengers can enjoy all the view from all sides and above. Thank you for the visit. BETTY

Hi Betty

Looks as thou8gh this is going to crash into the bushes :-))

Good shot and have a nice day ...Cheers Marion

bettyleeboop on January 15, 2011

cindy555 The way I took the shot does look like it will crash into the bushes, but there is plenty of room on the other side of the bushes. There is a gorgeous view of the mountains and the Fraser River on this ride. Visit again. BETTY
