Greetings, Marilyn. I'm new to your pages, and I'm sorry it took me so long to find you. You've got an exceptional eye for a picture, and what must be an instinct for color and form. I truly ejoyed my stay here. Thanks.

Thanks, Hank. I very much appreciate the comment coming from someone with such an outstanding portfolio. I'll enjoy exploring it further when I get back to my Canadian home and a faster internet connection!

Hi, thank you for your comment on my picture. This picture is great. Structure and light. The repetition of the ornament is great captured. I really like these detail photos. And you took th picture in a good angle. I give a yellow star.

Greetings from the rainy cloudy and cold Germany,

Many thanks, Carsten, for the comment and for the yellow star. Right now it is rainy, cloudy, and cold in my part of Canada, too!

Ooh! I really want to go there!!! From a rather jealous Rachel.

I hardly need to say, Rachel, that I recommend it most highly! Greetings from Canada, Marilyn

I haven't seen Brighton but from pictures I see the connection. I agree that the builders are real heroes!

The "onion-domes" are usually ornamantal cladding on an inner structure and never a true structural dome as it is shown here. Origin of this shape is highly disputed. Thanks Marilyn.

Thank you for your visit and information.

Some lovely photos of Orthodox churches. Try my Churches tag for some photos of Orthodox churches east of the Urals - many of them in a state of ruin, but others beautifully restored. Best wishes Griff51
