Looks as it is basking in the sun on its own tiny private beach. Was it alone? I'm too close even from over here on the other side of my screen. Well done, indri!

The night before we had been sleeping in tents on a sandbank in the River Jean, it was rather frightening to see them do the same thing a few kilometers downstream. We saw 4 or 5 five crocodiles, they moved very fast, plunged in the water and disappeared. I'm not fond of them either.

De grote charme van Madagascar is dat er, behalve deze ondersoort van de Nijl-krokodil, geen dieren leven die voor de mens gevaarlijk zijn. In principe zijn deze krokodillen viseters maar ik betrouw ze absoluut niet, brrr
