Hi Bruce Thanks, I agree it has lovely lines and it is a little powerhouse alright. I was told by one of the engine drivers that the wheel configuration on this engine enables it to pull heavier weights compared to the larger 3 big wheelers like 34067 Tangmere which got stuck 1/4 of a mile behind this Train.

I remember such locomotives, now only you can see the railway museum Yours Andrew

TonyWalker Studio4t1 on March 21, 2010

Hi Andrzej Brudziński. We are lucky in England. We have a large number of Steam Railways still running and a new Steam loco on the main line, called Tornado. see it in the link Steam Locomotives below. Tone:)))

One can see the likeness with the lighter 2-6-2 Prairie class tank locomotive..both designed by Mr Collet!

nice pic Tone! >>>>L<<<<<

TonyWalker Studio4t1 on June 21, 2011

Hi Jim Yes it is very similar to the Prairie class. I didn't know they were both built by Mr Collett. Goliath is the Loco that rescued West Country class 4-6-2 loco 34067 Tangmere, a few hundred yards behind this spot. At the Waterside Holiday Park. Goliaths 2-8-0 gives it excellent traction on this steep gradient. Easily pulling the Torbay Express to safety. Thanks for the >>>>L<<<<<

Cheers Tone.
