Do you know what the tower in the background is?

| Timber Wolf | on October 2, 2009

Yes, Laurel, I'm pretty sure it is a cell phone tower.

Hi Kyle!

I saw that you had asked Jean about places to visit around Franklin/Asheville. I will make some suggestions here & leave her comment for her to see. She will have the most up to date information as I haven't lived there for years now & am not up to date on how the weather will affect things this year.

Anyway, there are many beautiful places to visit. I would try to see if there is any fall color drives online - maybe they would tell you the best areas for color at the time. Fall Leaf Hotline 1-866-6LEAVES (866-653-2837) Maybe you have already checked it out but here is a fall color wesite that has some pretty good information. They are calling for the best color viewing this week and weekend and perhaps into next week. Any of the drives that they mention would be great. the drive from Franklin to Hendersonville on 64E is beautiful anytime of the year with lots of stops along the way as you probably can tell by looking at the photos on GE. But it is a slower windier road. If color is your main objective I would ask at the western NC info center which is on the left hand side of 441 about 5 miles south of Franklin where the best drives are. Jean can probably give more specifics.

Whatever you do you can't go wrong as there is loads to do and see in the area. Let me or Jean know if there are specific things you are interested in. Or which route you plan to take & we can suggest things to see along the way.

I am Jean's cousin & grew up in Franklin....just in case you are wondering why someone from WI is sending you all this info on NC!

Hope you have a great trip!

Hi joyfotos!

I'll make sure to check that out, southeastern North Carolina definitely looks like a beautiful place to visit (and live!) and that's why I'm so inclined to visit it in the fall expecially.

I'm not positive yet on which route we are taking, most likely we will head for Asheville first and check out the northern Asheville scenery, then we will probably head south and go to Franklin and then head south again into South Carolina and from then head home. Are there any particular points of interest or high points we can check out? Historical scenes? Those would be some of the things we'd be interested in seeing. We don't plan to go to far north however.

Thank you so much for all that useful information! That was very thoughtful of you!

So you are Jean's cousin? That's interesting, I knew you both knew eachother however.

Thanks for your time! I appreciate it very very much!

Greetings, Kyle
