What a beauty. The wave looks like a fan. Cheers, Dianne
Hi Dianne - this was a really cool meeting of waves hitting at about a 90 degree angle. It was pretty fascinating to watch, since the rooster tail moved toward shore with the waves along the intersection point.
You can actually see the angled waves and the intersection line on the map - that line between the mainland and the little island.
Cool! This is due to global warming and the rising of the worlds oceans, it was someone's front lawn and they left their sprinkler on.
Nicely caught BnP! Even looks kind of like a bird's tail or a fan in the aerial shot.
Thanks Guy - Al Gore would be proud!
Flippin' waves! Cool shot, Bits.
Thanks Guy, Conrad and not1word ! I was almost more surprised to see how the waves and even where they met on the satellite view than I was to see the rooster-tails to start with. They'd make a cool little video.
Ha-ha Guy - with the way the fan moved toward shore, it must have been one of those big fan sprinklers we could run through as kids. There was a really nice lawn behind, so you just might be right...
As Guy would say, the waves always spoil the view!!
Nice one B-n-p
Jim (ex AXOTA)_
LOL, Jim! Actually, I guess things all even out in the end. The wave got in the way of a nice seagull I was trying to photograph!
Thanks for stopping by this side of the Atlantic ;)
Speaking of birds BnP, you could always outdo Guy if you ever got a shot of that crazy tailed Grackle. Don't know how they can fly without crashing.
